Me, in tourist mode. Which brings up the topic of tourists. I bring my camera everywhere, and seem to always be snapping photos of something. It doesn’t matter if I’m on vacation, or walking my hounds. While I’ve grown comfortable and confident doing this shamelessly, I’m also extremely aware of the stigma of the tourist. This got Ian and I talking. What is so bad about tourists? Why do we all love to point them out and make fun of them? Perhaps because we’d all love to have the cash and time to travel the world and take pictures. Maybe that’s why I make fun of Japanese girls flaunting giant expensive cameras standing in line to see the Liberty Bell. Because I’d kill to be doing the same thing in Japan. Never. Enough. Vacation. Time.
